Red Down is an inbred granddaughter of Sure Bet. She has a
unique pedigree; she brings back a concentration of the McKnight
side of the Sure Bet family. She is line-bred to one of the
Sure Bet family foundation hens, Lady Diva #1309. When
paired with Sure Bet, Lady Diva produced Snow Queen;
winner of 19th place in the Vegas Classic. We also have Red Down's
full sister Eve.
As an added bonus I believe
that Red Down is carrying the gene to produce recessive reds.
We plan to mate her to Sure Risk, who we also believe is
carrying the gene. We will also mate her to Lucky Prince and
Redwood who we know are carrying the gene, just to test her
for the recessive red gene.
Sire:
OCF 05-1712 is a Meuleman/Bekaert cross bred by Greg
McKnight. This combination is a huge part of the solid base
behind the Sure Bet legacy. 1712 is a full
brother to Lady Diva's father.
Dam:
Anna, GFL 05-412 is a direct daughter of Sure Bet
when he was mated to his own
daughter Snow Queen. The mother of Snow Queen
is one of the foundation hens of the Sure Bet legacy, Victor
Valenzuela's #1309, Lady Diva. Snow Queen placed 19th in the Snowbird
Classic; only a little over a minute out of 1st place.
Anna was sold on auction for $20,000 plus.
