What's
Happening At Turned
Luck !!!
01/17/11
- WOW!!! 2011!!! Where did the time go. Been very
busy with work, while also trying to put my shoeing business
back together. Still getting pairs together so I am late for
that. Still have a few birds for sale as I wait for some to
finish out; I continue to cut out those I don't like physically
since I didn't race here at home. I will be racing YBs in
2011!!! And my even send a few yearlings out for OBs on the
short races - will have to see how their training goes.
Landed a few more sweet
Creator breeders and brought in three other individual birds
from different families to test for race crosses - more info on
that later - don't want to give away all my secrets..... LOL
Only entered two Out Of
Area races this year but brought home money in one - the Buckeye
Challenge. Scored 5th in the feature race with a nice young hen.
Also had two on a syndicate team in the Plymouth Peak Pro
Series. As it went for many others - I was doing well until the
huge smash race from 281 miles - 400+ birds went out and less
than 100 returned. I had a little hen at 26th Average Speed up
until that point.
Will have some birds on
iPigeon in the coming weeks - need to get pedigree data in the
computer. Had a an issue and lost all my data. Luckily Ron
Deisher was able to send me a backup disc to save me some time
on the ancestry but I still have to enter all my personal
breeding stock. I won't ever forget to back up again. AND I
won't ever be without Carbonite!!!!
I am also donating a few
birds to some auctions, fundraisers, clubs.....
11/22/10
- It's been awhile since I have written - busy at
work, busy with family, busy with pigeons and also trying to get
back into shoeing (wish me luck with my back!!). I got a call
yesterday that just made me go through the roof. Had a fellow
flyer call and rip me a new one because I am selling pigeons and
the price I am selling them for. His argument was "you have no
race record or experience!!! so you should not even be giving
birds away!!!" He is partially correct - I have a very limited
race record. BUT I have always put that right out there and have
never tried to embellish that fact. Truth is I have success in
the few races I have entered or sent birds to for others!!!
Here is my response - I
chose to spend as much as $3,000 each for some of my breeders -
I know that is not much to some but it is a great deal to me at
this point in my life!!! I simply am offering some of their
young to the sport in an effort to recoup a little of my money
and maybe make enough to purchase future stock. I am not forcing
anyone to buy my birds. This guy seemed to be disgruntled
because he can't afford birds he wants and took it out on me. He
used this website as an example, saying that it was all about
advertising. I guess you could look at it that way. I do it
simply because it is another avenue for my hobby. I enjoy
sharing what I have. If I took all reference of sales off my
site I would still have the site to share with my friends and
fellow flyers. As an example before I even mentioned "sales" on
my site I had people email wondering if I had ybs available out
of this bird or that bird.
I put people in this
sport that sell pigeons into a couple of categories. There a few
like Mike Ganus for example that are professional pigeon
breeders BUT they have invested well and are providing great
stock for a fair price - some of those prices may be very high
but they are relative to the quality of the bird. Their breeding
stock has the records to back up their worth!!! There is a big
price difference in a sports car and a commuter car!!! I
appreciate and thank these gentleman. I go to Mike without
hesitation to buy a bird. He has gone above and beyond to help
me out.
Then there are the
"Robin Hoods" - these are the professional breeders that are
selling quantity - every bird they band - they are all over the
auction sites. They claim they are "selling young from top
quality stock (usually purchased from the breeders mentioned
above) and they are selling it for working mans prices." Don't
be fooled - they want to make money!! Yes in some cases they
have spent top dollar on stock but did so just to be able to
sell young off them. They are using the other guys reputation
and advertising but they are mass producing the product and
selling numbers not necessarily quality - no culling - again
everything banded is sold. Just look at the number of different
lines of birds they have. One of everything!!! The only thing
they are concentrating on is mass breeding.
Then of course there is
the guy who just plain has good pigeons - whether he
bought them or built a family himself and has race and breeding
records to back up the quality of his birds. He than wants to
sell his extra or maybe even breed a few extra to sell but he is
not in the sport to breed and sell pigeons. He is a flyer first
and sells a few extra pigeons on the side.
I feel I fall into this
last category. I don't have long extensive race record YET but I
bought what I feel is great stock. No, because of life's
circumstances I have not raced much. The little racing I have
done has been successful - birds I bred have been in five One
Loft Races and have brought money home in three of them. That's
winners in 3 out of 5 races entered - I think that is pretty
good - limited but good. Probably better than good. I had a hen
that was 26th in the average for the very tough Plymouth Peak
Pro series until she was lost on a smash race where almost 80%
of the birds sent did not return (the top lofts in the country
lost their birds on this race), so even though I didn't get in
the money I thought I represented myself well. That inaugural
race series had losses of over 80%!!! I also have sent birds as
kits for others to fly in their clubs and combines and they have
also raced well - well above average when you look at the
combine/association results.
I want to race and when
life allows that I will, until then I will race when I can and
continue breeding what I have. I will also continue offering
extra birds to the sport. I cull heavily - those who showed
against me when I competed thought I was ruthless culling but it
showed up in the National wins I accrued. I was accused of not
selling enough birds when I showed. It was not because I didn't
want to share stock it was because with show birds you can see
what you have right in front of you and if it wasn't good enough
for me it wasn't good enough to sell, so I just didn't have a
lot of extras. At the end of the show season I culled down to my
breeding pairs plus a few extra hens. At the last show of the
year I offered the show birds that did not make the breeding tem
for sale. After that show not one extra bird stayed if I did not
plan to breed it to improve my family. THEY WERE CULLED!!! Not
held for sale. I handle the racers much the same way with a few
adjustments because they have to be tested by the basket. I
can't just judge their quality visually.
That said I don't sell
everything I band. I settle and try to train out about 90% of
the birds I band. I do hold some off best birds just in case I
loose the breeders. Mike Ganus told me to do that after I lost a
valuable bird after only raising one round and had lost one of
those to a hawk while settling them. His quote was "take as many
young as you can while you have them because there is no
guarantee you will have them tomorrow." So now I have have
decided not to settle the first few off a new breeder so that I
have stock for sure. After that everything flies and trains -
they must be basket tested.
I also cull birds if I
do not like them around the loft. For example if a young bird is
not keeping up with the kit or seems to not have the right
temperament to lend itself to my training and management it is
culled. Or if it is wild and constantly disrupts the rest of the
birds it is culled. I don't cull just on the physical qualities;
I won't say never. Mile also discouraged this, "everyone wants
the perfect racers, but I have seen some real ugly winners.."
was his statement.
Sorry to run on, but
what I am trying to say is this. I am in this to breed and
race birds for myself!!!! Yes if I have extras that I don't
plan to keep but I feel may be useful to someone else I will
offer then for sale. Why don't I just give them away? I don't
believe in free lunches or welfare - plain and simple. I spent
hard earned money on my stock and you should as well. It is your
choice - there are those out there that have and will give away
birds both useful and worthless. That said I have sent free race
kits to folks, but I did that to help test and prove my stock. I
am not trying to make a living selling pigeons - hell if I was I
definitely should find a new line of work. It is nice when I
sell a few birds and they actually pay for their own feed!! But
I don't expect to, nor intend to sell enough to buy groceries
for my family.
I have always hated
selling pigeons but as stated I don't believe in free lunches. I
guess I could just cull what I don't want. I basically do that
at the end of every year. I cull down to my breeders and what I
would like to race as OBs. As far as price - I never know what
to do there - my latest thought is an unproven bird should be
worth 10% of its parents value just on genetics alone. For
example if I paid $3,000 for a breeder, I will sell it's young
for $300. There is always that chance - Victor Valenzuela bought
Sure Bet for $500 and he was not even in the clock - came back
from the race two weeks late. Hell I don't know - I am a
capitalist and believe in supply and demand!!! This is why I
hate selling pigeons.... gotta go!!!!
09/30/10
- Well we lost #59246 on a smash 281 mile
race at the Plymouth Peak Challenge - only 75 birds returned out
of 286. The Plymouth Peak Pro Challenge is down to 105 birds out
of 720. I hope brad can survive this. I know it is tough flying
in the mountains of Utah but I never expected losses like this.
Some of the top names in the country sent 5-10 bird teams and
have nothing to show for it.
On a better note we are
hanging in there very well at the Buckeye Challenge - 3 out of 4
birds still there and very competitive. #59234 is our big
chance for $$$. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate so
they can ship the 150 mile race - then the feature 250 will
follow about a week after.
We also have birds still
competing for others in the I-Race and I-Race Gold - earned 7th
with #59227 on the 150 mile race there for Michael
Mitchell.
09/13/10
- #59246 is still doing well at the
Plymouth Pro Peak Challenge; she was just 40th our of 287 on the
200 miler. That bumped her up eight spots in the average to
31st. I am very happy with these results considering it has been
a tough series - started with 720 birds and down to 287 by the
fourth race in the series. They are racing over the mountains of
Utah!!!
The birds at the Buckeye
Challenge were doing well - lost the most consistent bird on the
50 mile toss - she was just the first in the clock on the 45 and
didn't return from the 50 - you just never know.
I have my ybs flying
here for the last couple of weeks - will have pictures of the
loft set up soon - remember I converted my "Show Loft" - so I am
making it work. I will train these guys out this fall as I
hope to race these guys as OBs. I plan to pick out 12 pair from
the '10 hatches and some of the yearlings and two year olds that
I kept. The '10s will be Creator, Sure Bet and
Black Widow - the yearlings and two year olds will be mostly
Sure Bet.
Some of this years young
are exceptional - if I do say so myself. I saved one from
First Class and Too Grand out of the two sets I
raised because of an injured leg, all four were originally
spoken for - WOW!! is all I can say. After handling him the
other night I immediately put the pair back together and plan to
mate his brother, Shadowed, to her sister Texas Bet,
as soon as the two are free. They will definitely be put
together for OLRs next year.
It seems everything
Ramrod and Stewardess produced is nice. And ALL
of the ybs off of Supremacy and Diamond's Dollar
are exceptional!!!!
08/31/10
- Report on One Loft Races - I sent nest mates to the
Plymouth Peak Pro Challenge who did very well up to the 100 mile
smash training toss. Over 100 birds out of the original 720 were
lost on this toss. My hen #59246 made it back in good time but
her brother #59247 took his time - three days. Both were sent to
the first 107 mile race a week later - #59246 clocked in 52nd
out of 419 birds sent. Unfortunately #59247 did not return - too
much too quick I guess.
#59246 repeated with an equal performance on the 138 miler,
clocking in 62nd out of 310 birds. She now stands at 39th in the
average amongst 309 birds with 7 races to go.
I managed to get four
more birds to the 2010 Buckeye Challenge, managed by Dustin
Baker. It is not a very well attended race this year but I
wanted to support Dustin - less than a 100 bird entry. They are
out to 40+ miles and I have birds clocking at the top on the
trainers.
08/08/10
- Just got back from a week of softball. Julia
played in the ASA Eastern Nationals. They finished in the Sweet
Sixteen out 49 teams from 11 states. The highlight of my weekend
was watching her - during ITB in what turned out to be an 11
inning game - read and react to a batter who was bunting; Julia
fielded the bunt about 3' in front of home plate tossed it to
the catcher to tag out the runner from third to prevent them
from scoring. The catcher then threw to the SS at 3rd to tag the
runner coming from 2nd; the SS then went to the 2nd basemen who
tagged the hitter who was trying to stretch her original bunt
into a double during all the chaos. AN UNBELIEVABLE play that
saved us from a loss at that moment. I am SO PROUD of my baby.
So the season is over..... HA, HA.... in reality it isn't a
season, it is a "cycle"... tryouts are next weekend and then we
start practicing for fall tournaments. WHEW!!!!
I am splitting up the Hofkens pairs as they
finish out babies. I will start shipping them to their new owner
soon and I want them to rest while they finish their molt. As I
am doing that I am replacing them with other pairs so that I
still have fosters set up because I have my eight individuals
full, raising future breeders and late hatches to fill
next years old bird team. As I mentioned the Hofkens have been
my fosters, but I will replace them with Creator,
Black Widow and Sure Bet birds so that I can fully
test all three lines. It also allows me to hold birds for stock
replacement but not just have them set around - everyone has to
earn their keep somehow.
I am just about finished
setting up the hallway and trapping area so that I can once
again fly ybs here at home. I will then begin setting up the OB
flying section that currently houses my show room at the SE end
of the loft. I will put 12-16 nest boxes there and begin flying
natural next year maybe with some late hatches.
07/14/10
- Looks like my whole family of Hollywood/Hofkens
will be gone soon - details to follow later. Ron Deisher sent
Clarity today, she is Cooper's full sister, both out
of the
Creator Family Syndicate 3. She is a very nice hen
and will be a great addition to my Creator family. He
also put a full sister to Aphrodidas in the box. She is
also as nice her sister, just a bit bigger. Another super Creator
hen to add to the stable.
All of the birds that
have been sent to out of area races for me and others are all
still doing well. Also sent several kits out around the country
to be raced by friends. All were very happy with the ybs and all
birds are doing well. Stay tuned for updates.
06/08/10
- A day off and it is rainy and dreary out - bummer. I have
decided on two things concerning the future of Turned Luck
- eliminating one line and setting prices. First I love the
babies coming out of my Creator and Black Widow
matings. Because of that I have decided to eliminate the
Hollywood/Hofkens line. I have always been a huge fan
of this line - I love the way they look, the way they handle and
the way they perform, but space is limited.
The second issue -
pricing! I hate the issue of selling pigeons BUT I have spent
good money on my stock and like my hobby to support itself
somewhat - not support me - I am not in the pigeon business. I
raise birds for myself and sell the extras - I don't breed
pigeons with the intentions of selling. That whole deal is too
stressful and time consuming.
What I have decided to
do is this; any ybs out of any two GFL banded breeders will be
$500 - any ybs out of one GFL banded bird and one non-GFL banded
bird will be $250 - any ybs out of two non-GFL banded birds will
be $100. There will only be two exceptions to this; the first
will be if someone wants to reserve a black, that will be an
additional charge. The second exception will be for proven
breeders or racers.
05/21/10
- My new job has been crazy!!! Glad to have it
though. My son graduates High School on Wednesday. My little boy
through high school and getting ready for college. Man I am
getting old.... LOL I am proud to say he was 1 of 28 accepted to
Drexel's Architectural Program. Not only accepted but offered a
scholarship.. I am a proud daddy.
Julia's freshman
softball year just ended at HS but the tournament ball is well
under way. She is actually traveling to Oklahoma City for the
College Softball World Series in two weeks. NOT playing YET for
a college but her 14U travel team is playing a tournament there
the same week and it will give them an opportunity to to see the
World Series. She is so excited.
Well the loft is busy
too!! Ramrod and Stewardess have hatched their
second set. Their first set - two black splashes - are turning
out superb!!! After they lay their next set, they will be split
and Stewardess will be mated to Black Powder.
Ramrod may go on Blossom or I may make a Creator
cross. How about some black Creators!!!!
And we also have
Stewardess' grandchildren in the nest - both Shadowed
and First Class have their first hatches under them. Both
sets are a super combo of Black Widow, Aviator and
Sure Bet. I will be offering a few off these pairs this
fall so keep an eye out.
Supremacy and
Diamond's Dollar are on their second set of babies. The
first set is developing nicely for my friend Steve Royer - a
beautiful slate self and blue bar splash. I will take maybe two
more rounds and then Supremacy will go on either
Forbidden Dance or Bleus Dancer for some line bred
Sundancer babies - both are out of Supremacy's half
sister, Creative Dancer who shares the same super dam -
Sundancer.
Diamond's Dollar
will be mated to Cooper to produce some inbred Diamond
Maker babies - they are both Diamond Maker
grandchildren. I can't wait for those ybs!!!!
Because of funds I was
only able to enter six birds in one loft races - sent two to the
Plymouth Peak Pro Challenge and four to the Buckeye Challenge.
All six are doing well. Brad Hoggan really liked the two I sent
to the Plymouth Peak race. I sent a good cross section of my
families. I also sent birds for two other friends so I have a
total of 10 birds out to one loft races.
05/04/10
- Supremacy/Diamond's Dollar have babies and are
back down on eggs. The first set goes to my friend Steve Royer
of Utah. I traded them in a deal to get Forbidden Dance
back to Turned Luck.
Both Black Powder/Lucky
Charm and Ramrod/Stewardess are back down on
eggs. And both of Stewardess' boys, Shadowed and
First Class are down on eggs with their hens.
Could not get birds out
to any more races. My son, Jared was involved in an accident and
totaled out Tahoe. Thanks God he is fine but now my pigeon
budget will be spent on another vehicle for the family. I am
sending more birds to CA to be flown by a friend in his combine.
04/23/10
- Both of the Ramrod/Stewardess
babies are black. They have been moved under fosters and
Ramrod is driving again. I just weaned the ybs from Black
Powder and Lucky Charm and he is driving again.
I also just paired up
the nestmate brothers from Widow's Bet and Stewardess.
First Class is mated to Too Grand - a
granddaughter of Sure Bet and Super Crack 699.
This pulls Sure Bet in from both sides as First Class
is also a Sure Bet grandson. I have Shadowed mated
to Blossom - out of the eight great grandparents in this
mating you have Sure Bet three times, Black Widow
three times and Aviator and Eclipse. WOW!!!!
Sent ybs to the Buckeye
Challenge and Plymouth Peak Pro Challenge on Tuesday. Also have
a partnership with four more birds at the I-Race/Gold. Might
send five more of my own. Next week I am sending a grizzle our
of Diamond's Dollar to the PA Dutch Grizzle Race, a
beautiful little blue bar grizzle hen. Her daddy is Quick
Silver II - a Silver Boy Grandson.
04/14/10
- WE HAVE STEWARDESS BABIES.
Ramrod and Stewardess hatched
out there first set yesterday. And Black Powder
and Lucky Charm's second set are both black !!!! The
Widow's Project is in full swing.
Supremacy and Diamond's Dollar
finally seem to be in love - hopefully fertile eggs will follow
soon.
Looks like we will have Turned Luck YBs
going to at least 5 One Loft and Futurities in either our name
or partnerships. Keep tuned in for details. Follow them on the
One Loft Races page.
04/07/10
- Stewardess'
Granddaughter Scores Big !!! Blue Check Hen W's Kathi,
AU 09 AUB 1648, owned and flown by Paul Watson, Flying W Loft,
Cool, CA was named 2009 DIGEST North American Continental
Awards 1st Sprint Ace Pigeon and 2nd Overall Ace Pigeon Division
6 !!!
03/22/10
- We have Supremacy
and Diamond's Dollar in the an individual right now. Plus
Ramrod and his Aunt Stewardess are mated and
happy. Black Powder and Lucky Charm have just
hatched out there second set so we should have a few of them to
offer soon. Later Black Powder will be mated to his half
sister Stewardess producing double grandchildren of
Black Widow. Stay tuned.
03/16/10
- I wrote about the bad
luck with Bourne, but Mike Ganus came through again and
it gets better each time. I liked Bourne so much I wanted
a full brother. Well Mike couldn't come up with one, so instead
he sent a truly fantastic half brother - a son of Boomerang
and Sundancer. This cock is phenomenal!!!! And out of two
National quality racers. Check out
Supremacy.
I recently, within the last couple weeks, started a
new career with Lowe's and with that, my time is not my own. With this career change and my son going to college in the fall,
my financial situation will be different for awhile. It looks
like I will not be racing from home for a few years. So I will
be reducing my stock loft and concentrating on just a few one
loft/futurity races each year as well as the development of my
Creator, Black Widow and Sure Bet lines. I
will try to have a stock sale every fall on iPigeon. I am not in
the pigeon breeding business so will offer birds at very
reasonable prices.
03/04/10
- Again BadLuck Loft - due to circumstances out of everyone's
control we had to replace Bourne.
01/11/10
-
GREAT,
GREAT NEWS !!!!! This is going to sound
crazy but I have pneumonia and pleurisy. It is great news
because the doctors figured out through this that my lung
problem has been a chronic infection this whole time. Not caused
by the birds just aggravated by them. 28 days of antibiotics and
steroids plus lung treatments and the infection is gone BUT
THE BIRDS STAY !!!!!
01/06/10
- Doubloon's
replacement arrived today and what a bird. I couldn't get a full
brother but Mike did one better. He sent me a son of
Boomerang mated to Diamond Maker. A half brother but
what a half brother!!!!!!
12/16/09

I think we are going to change the name to
BADLuck loft... some time today before I got home from work a
Coopers hawk crashed through one of the glass windows in the
front of the loft. I had just cleaned hem two days before so I
admit it could have been mistaken for an opening in the loft,
but I thought the glass would repel something the size if a
Coopers. He must have really been hauling butt when he hit it. I
found him dead on the floor in the hallway.
Unfortunately that is
not all I found!!! Before the hawk dies he killed Doubloon
and three others, Kitt - a double Rocket
gr'daughter, Okie - an inbred OHF Aarden hen and a sweet
Hofkens hen I bred. Kitt was bad enough, but the loss of
Doubloon is crushing. he was going to be the base of my
Creator family. I have something in the works to replace
him so stay tuned for details.
On a good note, I am
expecting a shipment from my good friend Ron Deisher. He is
sending a pair out of our Widow's Connection mating, a cock out
of our Creator Family Syndicate III pair and a cock out of his
Gabriel and Faith. They won't make up for the loss
of Doubloon but it will cheer me up some. There is also
another Widow's Connection cock on the horizon - a black cock.
More details later.
12/02/09
-
GREAT NEWS !!!!! I might just be able to
keep a few. Since moving all the birds out to the show loft,
which has wire floors throughout, I have progressively had less
reaction to the birds. It has been almost two months since I
have had a full blown episode. I have also intentionally been
spending more time with the birds to test my lungs and reaction.
So far no more problems.
What does this mean?
Well I have convinced my family to let me keep a few birds. I am
cautious that the cooler weather and the fact that the molt is
over my be big factors so I may not be over this; only time will
tell.
Luckily most of my
Creator birds have not sold - though three key birds are
gone - so I will concentrate on what I have left of them. My
great friend Ron Deisher has agreed to return Doubloon
and Diamond's Dollar. He is also going to provide me with
two more Creator
cocks - one out of our CFS3 pair, Doubloon and
Princess Cut (pictured below). And a second one off of his
import Spierings pair, Gabriel and Faith.
He is also sending back
Black Powder and Stewardess. Returning these birds
will allow me to continue to participate in the Widow's
Connection and Creator Family Syndicate projects.
My plan is to breed from
a few key pair and see how it goes. It is obvious that I will
never be able to go back to my race loft but maybe I can
continue in some capacity from my original show loft - sending a
few birds out to one loft races and possibly selling some kits
and providing a few race kits for friends. I will certainly keep
you posted.
In the meantime I still have lots of good birds that
I need to get rid of.
I must reduce the numbers for sure.
06/02/09
- Princess Cut arrived today. She
will be rested for a few days and then paired with Doubloon.
You can find more details here,
Creator Family
Syndicate.
She is
here and mated to Doubloon

Ron Deisher of PDQ
Racing Loft has been helping me out quite a bit in establishing
my Creator family. I was able to help Ron pick up
Princess Cut and will be splitting some youngsters as a
result. After she has been with Doubloon awhile she will
be headed back to Ron's. We are calling this the
"Creator Family Syndicate". Jim Sears, Steve Royer and
Harold Lamons are also involved. Another collaborative effort to
improve all of our families and provide inbred stock for the
sport.

Scored !!!!!! e1st Buckeye Challenge
We
Scored AGAIN !!!!!! 3rd Buckeye Challenge

click picture to see more info

09/19/08 - I am on my
way to proving my choice of breeders and the quality of my birds
overall! I had 4th equal 1st at the inaugural Buckeye Challenge.
This was only the 130 mile warm-up race but it was our first one
loft entry, so that is one for one scoring. There were five on
the drop and we were 4th through the clock. This youngster is
out of our Sure Bet stock; the sire is Sure Risk.
I hope this is just the "warm-up" for the 250 mile feature race
to be held next Saturday Sept. 26th. Stay tuned and watch the
reports for 47811!!!
09/28/08 -
WOW !!!!!!! We hit again
!!!! We scored 3rd on the Buckeye Challenge Feature
250 with another Sure Bet Family bird; Sure Sweet
is the dam of this one. This time it was 47807. So we
have been in two races and scored twice with two different
birds; not a bad start.
This was a tough smash
250 miler. No birds on the day; only four the second day and one
the third. I am proud to say our 47811, the equal 1st
finisher from the 130 mile race came home Friday; six days after
the release and one of only 6 birds to return. We were the only
loft to have multiple entries return home from the race. Both of
these birds are from our Sure Bet family.
I have added
several more inbred double grandchildren of Sure Bet to
the stock loft. Be on the look out for some fantastic Sure
Bet great grandchildren soon at working man's prices. See
the new breeder's on the
Sure Bet Stock page.
I are also working on a
Vervoort Hofkens family to add to our Hollywood Hofkens.
Plus we discovered that our foundation Hollywood cock,
Lucky Prince carries the recessive red gene. So watch out
for some recessive red Hofkens in the future!!! This may also
include some recessive reds off of Sure Risk !! See the
new breeder's on the Hollywood
Stock page.
