In order to win this award a pigeon must fly 10 races in a row and if a prize is missed the bird is eliminated from competition. The competition consists of these races: 2 at 100 miles, 2 over 250 miles, 2 at 300 miles and 2 races over 400 miles. This is the toughest national award series in the world. One bad race and your national chances are over.

     Black Widow is very beautiful. She is medium in size, strong body, one pin tail, very strong and tight vents. A hen with red eyes that watch your every move. Her family tree is second to none.
